Class of 2019 // Becca / Holland, Michigan

As many of you guys know, Haylee and I are blessed to have two little ones, Seth who is 2 and a 1/2 and Selah, who just turned 6 months old yesterday.  One quote that we totally feel like describes our current "season of life" would be, "the days are long but the years are short".  There are so many days where Haylee especially feels like she wants to hurry through this stage of littles but we both know we will blink and they will be getting their senior photos done and off and out on their own adventures.

Last night I had the awesome privilege to hang out with Becca and her mom while shooting her senior session in Holland.  Our last stop of the night was Lake Macatawa where we did some photos on Beccas great uncles boat.  I was talking with her mom and she was telling me how Becca's Dad was having a hard time believing that his baby girl is getting ready to graduate.  She asked if I had kids and I told her about Seth and Selah, and that it was actually Selah's half birthday.  She said "No Way!  This boat is named Selah!"... I mean what a crazy coincidence.

We chose the name Selah for our little spit fire for many reasons, but we especially loved the meaning.  In the bible the word "Selah" is used at the end of a psalm meaning "to pause and reflect".  I think that is one of the biggest things as parents we are trying to learn... is to pause, appreciate the moments, praise the Lord for our blessings, and never take a single day for granted.  Because before we know it these long days will be long gone and we will have years behind us with our babies grown.
